SWITZERLAND CONTRACT SECTION
In 2001, a new bridge was constructed at kilometre 22,267 on the railway section between Neumarkt and Braunau. The low-designed construction consists of a steel supporting structure with crosswise oriented bridge floor. The bridge was prefabricated in three elements with an individual weight of 48 tons maximum each and delivered in such as way that it could be preassembled and welded parallel to the railway section. The installation had to ensue in only two days, in order to keep the scheduled closure of the track as short as possible.
