VIENNA TOWN HALL
With the construction of the Vienna town hall HASLINGER has again proved its extensive competence in hall construction. The new hall had become necessary as a supplement to the old town hall designed by Roland Rainer 40 years ago. Like the existing hall, it will be used as an event hall.
The superior building structure was erected as a steel construction with a six-sided ground plan with the dimensions of 68 x 74 metres. The challenge was in the versatile demands of the hall. In the supporting structure, platforms with projecting elements for offices had to be taken into account.
For logistical reasons the steel construction work had to ensue in two stages – just in time. A task that HASLINGER resolved accurately, as always.
