SATTLEDT (A)
FRONIUS
In 2006 the company of Fronius constructed a new production and logistics location in Sattledt/Upper Austria. The architect office of Benesch und Stegmüller was responsible for planning the complete new “green field” development, with HASLINGER also implementing and realising this construction. Fronius produces battery charging systems and solar technology at 5 locations in Austria, the Czech Republic and the Ukraine and is a competent partner of the international automobile industry in the field of welding technology. The construction of the new factory safeguarded Austria as a secure long-term location. Since the spring of 2007 600 employees have been producing the tried and trusted technology of Fronius GmbH on approx. 100,000 square metres.
In only eight weeks HASLINGER had mastered the entire assembly work onsite despite the heavy snowfalls in the winter of 2006. The factory’s width of 216 metres is subdivided into sixteen 12-metre fields and one 24-metre field. With a total length of 160 metres, this results in a factory surface of approx. 34,500 square metres.
The half-timber frames are between 4.3 and 7.5 metres in height. The trusses are attached diagonally to the half-timber frames, once at the half-timber framed upper boom and once at the half-timber framed lower boom – this creates two roof levels of up to a 10 metres maximum in height. This jump in height ensures that the entire factory is optimally illuminated.
In the area of the administrative tract two connecting ceilings were constructed in the 7.5 metres high half-timber frame, thus also efficiently integrating the required office space into the building. Several inner courtyards ensure additional lighting surfaces in the building.
