Project description

As part of the modernisation of the Lieboch-Wies/Eibiswald railway line, the Weiße Sulm bridge was rebuilt.

The bridge structure consists of a robust main supporting structure with two parallel, full-walled steel main girders and a carriageway slab (trough bridge) below, which extends over a single span.

The  orthotropic  carriageway  slab  was  manufactured  with closed longitudinal ribs and securely fastened to the main girders with high-strength, pre-tensioned bolts at assembly joints. The steel structure was prefabricated and transported directly to the construction site. On-site assembly was carried out using a rail crane.

Despite the complex requirements, the entire project - including delivery, assembly and completion - was successfully completed within a tight time frame of just two weeks.
