HASLINGER STAHLBAU realised the steel construction for the new semiconductor plant for the global technology group BOSCH with a total tonnage of around 4,800 tons of steel in a short assembly period of only 8 months.
The most challenging part was the implementation of the roof structure consisting of 2,100 tons of steel and 11,000 m² load-bearing shell of trapezoid profiles with flat sheet-metal coverings. The roof structure consists of 17 huge trusses with a length of around 70 m, a height of approximately 8 m and a mass of around 75 t per truss. These trusses were pre-assembled and lifted as individual pieces onto the concrete roof at a height of 20 m. A low-outgassing clean-room coating which is necessary in the chip industry was applied to the majority of the steel structure.
Platforms with a total area of 10,500 m², including open mesh flooring and handrails, were also implemented on the inside of the building.
