voestalpine Stahl GmbH commissioned HASLINGER STAHLBAU with the steel construction work in the sheet metal centre in Linz. The service included the manufacture and delivery of components required for the replacement of the crane runway girders in the sheet metal centre, in particular in halls C-D and D-E. This also included the necessary adaptation constructions to ensure smooth integration of the new components.

The 44 crane runway girders consist of an upper and lower flange and a web plate, which were welded together to form sheet metal girders. To avoid buckling, the web plates were reinforced with longitudinal and transverse stiffeners. These crane runway girders were designed as single-span girders with a length of 15 metres each. They must be adjustable both horizontally and vertically in order to compensate for any assembly tolerances. In addition, the top edge of the crane rails in Hall C-D was raised by around 0.50 metres.
