HASLINGER STAHLBAU built a unique educational complex for the state of Tyrol which in addition to the technical and vocational colleges, houses a higher technical education institute, a university and research under one roof.
The extremely complex, long and narrow building is right next to the Isel and was built as a pile construction using pipe supports for flood safety. The supporting structure is made from stilted 4.3m-high trusses made of welded box girders and diagonal pipes. The floor and roof have a composite design. The supporting structure that is visible inside the building was also painted with a fire protection coating. Various staircases and walkways form a perfect connection to the existing educational buildings.
The building phase for the steelwork lasted 7 weeks and the total building phase did not even last 15 months. This is where the advantages of the steel construction fully came into effect.
