Project description

HASLINGER STAHLBAU constructed a helideck on top of the existing building of the children’s hospital of University Hospital Graz while the normal operation of the hospital continued.

The roof helideck is located on the highest point of the children’s hospital complex on the western side of the existing building, approximately 4.6 m above the roof level of the main building. It is used exclusively for the deployment of ambulance and rescue flights and represents a direct link to the emergency facilities.

The helideck consists of a steel supporting substructure in the form of a grid to distribute the pressure, on which flat components are installed on the landing area together with a touchdown zone and safety strips. The entire landing area is surrounded by a net structure with a 2-metre overhang as a personal safety device.
