Project description

Pitztaler Gletscherbahn GmbH & Co KG planned to build the highest photovoltaic system in Europe on the Pitztal glacier.

The equipment is at an altitude of approximately 3000 m and supplies the facilities of the Pitztal cable cars company with electricity. HASLINGER STAHLBAU scored points as a complete provider with a tailor-made alternative. The complete plant planning of the steel construction was carried out on the basis of satellite images (3D laser scan). 188 individual foundations were used for the foundation of the plant in the rocky terrain. The permitted deviation of +/- 25 mm in all coordinate axes was achieved. The steel construction parts could only be brought to the site of installation using off-road lorries which in part went over the Pitztal glacier and had inclines of up to 25%. The modular tables were pre-installed on site, equipped with the photovoltaic modules and put into position with a mobile crane.

HASLINGER STAHLBAU completed the whole project including planning in a time period of just eight months from the customer placing the order to completion.
