As part of a major reconstruction of the existing hall a new ice sport facility for 7,000 visitors was realised.
The geometrically difficult raising of the roof could be completed with no problem within the tight time span. At the same time as the roof work was being done, elaborate stands and reinforcements were also being built. In addition, the existing outdoor ice rink was roofed over with a slender, repeatedly indented framework structure and converted into the new Hall 3, which offers room for a further 3,000 spectators.
The most striking new building element is the curved roof over the stands, which is directly connected to the existing hall's roof.
