The equestrian stadium in Aachen is not only a meeting point for the world horse-riding elite during the annual CHIO, but in 2006 it was also the venue for the show jumping world championships. In this sport Aachen symbolises tradition and perfection. So the requirements of the operating company were correspondingly high when it came to the renovation and extension of the stadium roof:
The construction had to be as strut-free as possible, in order to allow the visitors an unimpeded view of the area. HASLINGER STAHLBAU resolved this problem by means of a large-scale steel construction, which also kept the capricious weather away from the equestrian sport fans.
