Project description

The Humo Arena is the first multi-function arena in Uzbekistan. According to the architectural stipulations, the geometric shape of the hall was to resemble that of the Huma bird, a mythical figure which stands for happiness and freedom and is the national symbol of Uzbekistan.

On behalf of Oberhofer Stahlbau / Saalfelden HASLINGER STAHLBAU was responsible for the detailed static calculations for the joints, the preparation of the plant and assembly planning, and the manufacture of the 4,700 t steel construction including the priming.

Due to the huge distance of 5,600 km between the construction site and the HASLINGER production sites, the transport logistics posed a particular challenge. It was also crucial to produce the components exactly and comply with the tolerances as precisely as possible. Thanks to all the teams focussing on the utmost accuracy, the entire steel structure was finally assembled on the construction site in Tashkent on time and with no adjustment work required.
