For the Kin Chaung Bridge, a truss bridge built in Myanmar with Austrian funding, HASLINGER STAHLBAU on behalf of MCE GmbH completely produced the individual parts. The rolled sections for the bridge were exclusively sawn and drilled in the production department, and all the gusset plates were machined on CNC-controlled milling machines. After manufacture, the construction components were corrosion protected and packed as individual parts in containers to be seaworthy, so that they could be optimally transported to the construction site by ship.
The major challenge in this project consisted in specifying and ultimately also implementing the tolerances in such a way that the more than thousand individual parts could be assembled precisely on the construction site. The fact that not a single component had to be adjusted on the construction site shows that HASLINGER STAHLBAU was able to implement this requirement perfectly.
