Project description

The new crossing bridge on the ÖBB Vienna-Salzburg route was built using a special construction method. This involved a framework construction with diagonal shafts pointing outwards and purely reinforced concrete bolts in the outer zones with a composite bar over the ÖBB route.

The steel box girders of the composite bar were made from corrosion-resistant steel S355JOW (CORTEN). The steel girders were supplied in one piece of approx. 32 metres in length and were transported on a temporary frame during brief track closures. The steel girders were prevented from tilting during assembly using a HVL system specially designed by HASLINGER STAHLBAU.

HASLINGER STAHLBAU is particularly proud of the construction of these girders because each girder has a different arch (at greater height and on the plan) but fits exactly, in spite of this challenge.
