Project description

HASLINGER STAHLBAU was responsible for the construction of the world's largest and most cutting-edge assembly plant for powerful, gearless offshore wind turbines in Cuxhaven, doing so on behalf of the client, ARGE Heitkamp - Ballast Nedam, and the principal, Siemens. This extensive project, featuring an order volume of approximately EUR 32 millions, is one of the largest orders ever received in Haslinger Stahlbau's 69-year history.

The construction of the heavy duty hall, measuring approximately 330 x 155 m in size, and standing 35 m tall, was completed under significant time pressure as the demand for Generation D7 wind turbines is enormous. The entire steel structure for the production hall was manufactured, supplied and assembled by HASLINGER STAHLBAU. The main steel structure - weighing approximately 14,000 tons - was built in a record time of just six months.
